Shelby joined Chown Cairns LLP in 2020 after articling with the firm and being Called to the Bar.  Shelby is a member of our Family Law, Criminal Defence, and Litigation groups.  She has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, including the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice, and Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Shelby was born and raised in the Grey Bruce Region.  While residing there, she worked in family and criminal law with Forcier Deakin LLP (Owen Sound) as a legal assistant and summer student for six years.  During this time, Shelby developed a passion for access to justice and assisting individuals facing some of the most difficult times in their lives.

After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Philosophy and Sociology from the University of Guelph in 2016, Shelby received her Juris Doctor from Western Law in 2019.  Since settling in Niagara, she has enthusiastically embraced life in wine country.  Outside of the office, Shelby can often be found on the basketball court, in an arena, or hiking with her canine companion.
