Shannon obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with a major in Psychology from Queen’s University in 2010. She subsequently obtained a Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Ontario, with a focus on teaching in the primary-junior division of elementary school. Shannon’s volunteer experiences with the Distress Centre of Niagara and Pathstone Mental Health enhanced her interest in Family Law. While attending law school at the University of Western Ontario, Shannon volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, Family Law Project and Niagara North Community Legal Assistance in St. Catharines, Ontario. Shannon graduated with a Juris Doctor from the University of Western Ontario in 2015 and completed her articles with Chown Cairns Lawyers LLP in 2016. Family Law Services Shannon was called to the bar in June of 2016 and returned to Chown Cairns as an Associate in the Litigation Practice Group. Her primary focus is devoted to all aspects of family law, including parenting, property division, support, and domestic contracts. Shannon is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association, and the Lincoln County Law Association.
